We all know that this "stimluus" bill is causing great grief amount the Republicans and Democrats - the Reps. don't like it's pork and the Dems. are fighting hard for it. It seems a little suspicious that the Dems. are fighting to hard to get this passed ASAP - probably because there is so much pork in it they want it to get signed before anyone knows what's really going on.
Just something to take a look it. I'm sure it will pass, but with how much support from the Reps.?

I feel like this is a good article seeing as it is very relavent to party politics and the current political state of America. It highlights how divided the two parties are on this stimulus package and also denotes briefly where the money is going. A stimulus was undoubtedly needed however the discrepencies from party to party differed on how much money should be given and to what that money should be spent on. $800 billion is a lot of money and hopefully it is going to help people hurt by the recession however people need to realize that they need to spend the money recieved responsibly or it will all be wasted.
ReplyDeleteI'm skeptical of all of this 800 billion dollars crap. I think no matter who is president right now there would be a stimulus because what else can anyone do right now? To me it shows the American people that they are making an effort to repair the economy, but does the economy need to be repaired? Or does the economy essentially repair itself over time? I realize this is a dire situation but the stimulus plan seems so hit or miss. I hope it's hit.
ReplyDeleteWell the stimulus was obviously passed. Something needs to be done concerning the condition of our country'a economy and where it is leading us. It just makes me wonder if all the money going towards all these different things is really the answer. In the last stimulus plan just passed by Bush, it seems that not much an effect was taken upon by the economy. I think that with this stimulus package, the economy is not going to automatically go back to the way it was either. No matter what, it is going to take time. How much time is the question....hopefully the progress of boosting the economy will start soon...
